i lived 18 months of my college years without my 4 front teeth.

a golf cart accident knocked ‘em out clean. the temporary solution was fake teeth retainers. but since i couldn’t eat with the retainers in, and since they were made out of flimsy plastic, i broke or lost the retainers pretty often.

this meant i spent a lot of time toothless.

i gave presentations, taught classes, worked customer service jobs, and met new people. the only option was to keep going!

that’s my key takeaway from my toothless time: if there’s something i know how to do well, it’s to keep going! even if there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, even if the doctors keep pushing the final teeth surgery date, even if you sign up for a portfolio class and don’t know what art direction is (don’t worry i know now), i know how to keep going.

currently reading: atlas shrugged (for the second time)

currently listening: wicked soundtrack (on repeat)

currently directing: flatbread somerville rebrand
